Shipping policy
Refused Shipments & Unpaid Duties/Taxes
International orders may be subject to import duties, brokerage fees, and taxes assessed by your country's customs authority. These charges are the buyer's responsibility and are separate from the shipping cost paid at checkout. We have no control over what your country charges and cannot pre-pay these fees on your behalf.
If you refuse delivery because you do not want to pay these fees, here is exactly what happens:
- We do not bill you for the return shipping. We absorb that cost ourselves.
- We do not refund the original shipping you paid at checkout. That service was rendered — the carrier transported the package to your country and attempted delivery. You refused it; the shipping was not the failure.
- We refund the product cost only, when the package is back in our hands.
If the carrier abandons, destroys, or auctions the package before it returns to us, no refund will be issued.
By placing an international order, you confirm that duties and taxes are your responsibility, and that refusing a shipment to avoid them means forfeiting the outbound shipping cost.
U.S. Customs Notice
As of mid-2025, the United States has revised its de minimis exemption rules, which previously allowed most low-value international shipments to enter duty-free. As a result, some U.S.-bound orders may now be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or brokerage fees upon delivery, even if the order total is under typical exemption thresholds. These charges are assessed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection and collected by the delivery carrier — we have no control over them and do not collect these fees at checkout. This change applies only to U.S. customers and is part of a broader shift in U.S. trade policy. We continue to ship from Canada with all proper documentation, including Certificates of Origin, to help minimize unnecessary charges.
